No. Our waterproofing is a polyurethane coating built into both fabric layers — not a sprayed-on finish that washes out. Wash by hand or on a gentle cycle and hang to dry; never bleach it, and never put it in the dryer.

Measure your chest and compare it to the size chart on each product page. Our charts show the actual garment measurement and the suggested chest range, with room for layering already built in — for example, a Large Hurricane jacket measures 50" in the chest and fits a 44"–49" chest.

No need. The suggested sizing already allows for layering. Just match your actual chest measurement to the range on the chart and you're set.

Because everything is sewn in-house, we can accommodate most custom alterations — sleeve, torso or inseam — for $80 per alteration, added right from the product page. XXL jackets are available as a special order. This applies to the saw-pant lineup and the Hurricane rain gear line — not the Lynx or Apex.

It's woven to our own spec for a soft “hand” — little stiffness — so you're not fighting the gear through a 10–12 hour shift. The Apex and Hurricane outer shell is a rip-proof 420D high-tenacity nylon 66 that stands up to equipment wear and the nastiest bush, from blackberry to Devil's Club. The Lynx uses a 450D polyester with an even softer hand — rip-resistant and fully ANSI-certified hi-viz.

The Hurricane and Apex jackets have a vented back cape to dump heat and quick-snap front closures to adjust airflow on the move. Paired with the soft, non-stiff woven shell, they're built to wear all shift without cooking you.

The Apex and Hurricane are built from high-tenacity 420D nylon 66 over a 210D nylon 6 inner shell. The Lynx uses a 450D polyester outer over a 210D nylon 6 inner shell and is fully ANSI-certified regulation hi-viz.

Forestry and tree work: Hurricane or Apex rain gear plus WorkSafeBC-approved chainsaw pants or chaps. Roadwork, flagging or any job needing certified hi-viz: the Lynx series (ANSI Class 3). The Hurricane comes in bright red and blue with 3" 3M reflective trim for added visibility, but it isn't ANSI certified. If your site requires certified hi-viz, choose the Lynx jacket and pants — fully ANSI Class 3 certified.

TCS is Threshold Chain Speed — the certification our saw pants are tested against. A 3600 TCS pant is certified to stop a chain running at 3,600 feet per minute; a 4100 stops one at 4,100 ft/min.

Our Hurricane Pro chainsaw pants are 100% waterproof, with 4-layer Kevlar protection running from 4" above the crotch to the ankle. We also make breathable options like the Poly Pro and Summer Pro.

Keeping it clean protects its durability and waterproofing for years. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with a normal detergent — never bleach or stain removers. If the water-repellency ever needs a boost, clean the gear first, then apply a fabric guard (such as 303 Marine Fabric Guard) evenly with a spray bottle and hang-dry overnight, inside or in the shade. Never use a dryer.

Treat them as critical safety equipment. Inspect them regularly for damage and keep them as clean as possible — correct, timely cleaning reduces wear and the flammability that builds up from oil- and solvent-soaked fabric. The best time to clean and inspect is after each use.

Replace them if any of these are true:

• The outer shell has holes or cuts that let bar oil reach the Kevlar pad
• Wood chips or sawdust are packed inside the layers
• A repair has stitched through the Kevlar pad (this stops the fibres moving and lowers cut-through protection)
• They've been cleaned with bleach-based detergents
• The shell is caked with oil and dirt that won't wash out
• They've taken an exhaust burn (fabric layers can fuse and lose effectiveness)
• Any pants or chaps with a previous chain nick that reached the Kevlar pad need immediate replacement.

Make sure they're completely dry before storing to prevent mould. Hang them if you can — piled weight damages the material, clasps and buckles. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat, and if they live in a truck or cargo box, make sure they aren't rubbing on tools or sitting on or under your saw, chain oil or gas.

Orders take 2–4 business days to process, and tracked shipping usually runs 10–15 business days via UPS or FedEx. Shipping is $20 on orders under $400 and free above that. If anything's back-ordered, we'll email you with an estimated ship date.
