Most chainsaw injuries happen in the same place, and it's not where most pants protect you. The vast majority of sawyers cut from the left: right hand on the throttle, left hand on the bar. That puts the left side of your legs directly in the path of a kickback: exactly where most cuts land, and exactly where cheaper pants stop protecting.
That's why every Rain Gear Pro saw pant wraps Kevlar around the full front (180°), plus an extra 4″ on the left side of each leg, right where the accidents happen. It runs from 4″ above the crotch, shielding the femoral artery, all the way to the ankle.

How protection is measured
Cut protection is rated by Threshold Chain Speed (TCS): the chain speed the fabric is rated to stop, measured in feet per minute. A Pro rating holds a chain running at 3,600 ft/min.
