Why It's Built Different

Six Layers + Backpad

Six layers of Kevlar cover the full front, plus 4″ up the left, from 4″ above the crotch to the ankle, plus a 360° Kevlar backpad from knee to ankle.

Front and Back Built Different

A 600-denier woven polyester front resists abrasion; the knit polyester back breathes.

Made for Slashing Crews

Belt loops where you need them and a heavy-duty nylon seat patch for the abuse the job hands out.

Kevlar where it counts

Most chainsaw pants protect the front of your thigh, down to the ankle, and that's it. Ours cover the full front of each leg, 180°, plus 4″ up the left side of each leg, from above the crotch to the ankle, right over the femoral artery where a kickback is deadliest. The Seismic ProMax adds a full 360° backpad.

Knee to ankle

180° of front wrap plus 4″ up the left (bar) side above the knee. From the knee down, the backpad closes the circle: a full 360°. The dot marks the femoral artery: inside the coverage.

Front-of-thigh pads, usually starting below the crotch (dashed zone): the artery zone, the sides and the whole back stay exposed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much of the leg does the Kevlar cover?
It covers the full front of each leg, 180°, plus 4 inches up the left (bar) side, sewn in, from above the crotch to the ankle, and adds a full-wrap 360° back pad from knee to ankle.
Where do saw pants usually fail, and how do these hold up?
The crotch. Ours is nylon-reinforced and bar-tacked at the seams that split first, so that's the part built to outlast the rest.
What's the backpad for?
It's a 360° Kevlar wrap from knee to ankle, extra coverage for slashing and ground work where the saw can come at the back of the leg.
