The Build

Built in layers. Nothing decorative.

The Apex Unlined Rain Jacket open, showing the two-layer shell and inner chest pocket
  1. 01

    Outer shell

420D high-tenacity DuPont Nylon 66, spun from DuPont USA yarn. 10,000mm waterproof on its own — the face that meets the brush, the bark and the rain.

  2. 02

    Inner shell

    210D Nylon 6 — a breathable inner shell layer, not a liner. Adds 30,000mm and lets heat move. 10,000 + 30,000 = 40,000mm

  3. 03

    Reinforced

Sleeves, shoulders and torso — where the work wears gear down first.

  4. 04

    Back cape vent

Heat vents out the back, so you don't cook on the climb.

  5. 05

    Lockdown cuffs

Velcro cinches tight to seal out runoff.

  6. 06

    Snap-on hood

Snaps fully on and off. Run it or lose it.

  7. 07

    Two-way zipper

Heavy-duty, opens top or bottom, backed by quick snaps.

  8. 08

    Reflective

2-inch 3M Scotchlite chest band. Seen in low light.

Apex Unlined Rain Jacket · Pacific Northwest

RAIN'S THE TEST. THIS IS THE ANSWER.

Why It's Built Different

Two-Layer Shell

A 420D Nylon 66 outer over a 210D Nylon 6 inner shell layer — reinforced at the sleeves, shoulders and torso.

40,000mm Waterproof

Rated to 40K and 100% leakproof. You stay dry through the worst of it.

Vented So You Don’t Cook

Built-in venting moves heat and sweat out while you work. Dry outside, not soaked inside.

Handcrafted in Canada

We've cut and sewn rain gear in Canada since 1988. Every Apex jacket is built by hand, one crew's kit at a time — for loggers, arborists and tree crews who can't afford a breakdown in the wet.
